New Bedford JazzFest features 24 musicians, a cash bar, and light fare for purchase. This year, the event will be at its newly acquired venue, the historic Steeple Playhouse.
This year’s headliner is the Joel LaRue Smith Trio with Lydia Harrell on vocals. Joel’s playing is fully alive in every moment. He uses his technical brilliance, impeccable phrasing, and vast knowledge of classical genres with Afro-Cuban rhythmic patterns, complex jazz harmony, and clever improvisations.
The 17-piece Southcoast Jazz Orchestra is back by popular demand. Both jazz enthusiasts and casual listeners will enjoy this exciting and powerful live jazz experience.
