New Bedford Committee on Appointments and Briefings

The New Bedford City Council sub-committee on Committee on Appointments and Briefings will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20, in City Council Chambers in City Hall.

On the agenda:

  • Citizen input time: Gilly Safioleas on not being allowed to speak at the June 28 meeting, Dan Gonsalves on Eversource work being done on his street, Barbara Silva on lengthy wait times for permits and Maria DeOliveira on issues with paving on her street.
  • Three special permits for Motor Vehicle sales/rentals and general repairs.
  • Appointment of Rev. Michael S. Racine to the cemetery board.
  • Two petitions for pawnbroker’s licenses.
  • One private livery license application.
  • A motion requesting Riley Brothers Construction, Eversource Gas and DPI Commissioner Jaime Ponte attend to discuss work done at 578 County Street.
  • A motion for Diana Henry, the chairperson of the New Bedford Historical Society to appear to discuss how demolition determinations are made.
  • A motion for a meeting with Vineyard Wind to provide the committee with a company breakdown and action plan for the Marine Commerce Terminal Clean Energy Center.
