Hunger Heroes Volunteer Day
November 18

Volunteers will gather to package 1,000 Thanksgiving meals for families in need through the Hunger Heroes Project. Packaged meals are distributed through by the Hunger Commission to local partners throughout Greater New Bedford.
Each packaged meal will include: canned vegetables, stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, cornbread mix, cranberry sauce, gravy. This year, we’ll also be adding a pie to each meal, donated by Table Talk Pies and a fresh butternut squash grown at the Sharing the Harvest Farm at YMCA Southcoast Dartmouth. Meals will be packaged in roasting tin.
Food for the meals is collected through a large-scale community effort of more than 40 food drives and the Hunger Heroes Food Drop.
