Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day
September 23 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm

Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day will take place at the Crapo Hill landfill on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 8:30 am to noon. *Event held rain or shine.*
The event is open to New Bedford, Dartmouth and Freetown residents only. Proof of residency is required.

To hold the event safely, participants must follow the requirements below.
– Place household hazardous waste in the trunk, pickup truck bed, or back of SUV.
– Stay in vehicle.
Examples of accepted waste include:
– oil-based paints
– paint thinner
– pesticides
– herbicides
– old gasoline
Do NOT bring latex paint. If you cannot give it away, dry out and throw away in the regular trash.
Do not bring empty containers.
Do NOT bring anything that is accepted at your transfer station including:
– Antifreeze
– Fluorescent light bulbs and mercury containing devices
– Motor oil
– Propane (or other) tanks or cylinders
– TVs or computer monitors

The maximum amount you can bring is 25 gallons or 25 pounds. Collection is for households only. No businesses, schools, or contractors.
The Crapo Hill Landfill is located at 300 Samuel Barnet Blvd. in New Bedford. **Please note that traffic flows in one direction at this event; the only way to enter is through the New Bedford Business Park.**
Please enter through the New Bedford Business Park on Braley Road. Once you enter the park, you will pass the Registry of Motor Vehicles on your left. Signs will be posted to help guide you through the business park to the landfill.
