FABRIC Arts Festival: Unfixed Concrete Ideals Opening Event
October 14 @ 1:00 pm

“Unfixed Concrete Ideals” explores the generative contradictions of concrete’s material qualities and use: its formless fluidity and rigid fixity, as well as its use in building agendas ranging from idealistic, modernist, social spaces, to oppressive and divisive realities. The exhibition was first installed in Boston City Hall (a few blocks from Boston Government Center) and now occupies Fall River Government Center, another Brutalist building of the same era.
This opening event is curated by artists Allyson Vieira and Ben Sloat.
The annual FABRIC Arts Festival returns on October 5-14, featuring a series of music concerts, art exhibitions, public art, dinners and educational workshops in Fall River, New Bedford and Providence.
