FABRIC Arts Festival: Mátria with Catarina Gonçalves
October 12 @ 6:45 pm

Mátria is a sensorial journey to the womb of São Miguel Island, where Natália Correia, a Portuguese poet, writer, and congresswoman, was born exactly 100 years ago. Mátria is made in her honor as three women embody her spirit in different ways through an exploration of the female body in different stages of life. A film about mental and physical freedoms, Natália’s timeless poetry entangles both reality and fiction. Mátria screens before a music concert by the Azorean band We Sea.
Registration is required for this event. Admission is free.
The annual FABRIC Arts Festival returns on October 5–14, featuring a series of music concerts, art exhibitions, public art, dinners, and educational workshops in Fall River, New Bedford, and Providence.
