Essential Auto Maintenance

Learn to diagnose minor car issues, repair and maintain the essentials without depending on an expensive mechanic. This workshop will cover some or all of the following. For willing students, their vehicle will be used as a demonstration.
Students will meet in the parking lot of Advanced Auto Parts at 224 Rodney French Blvd in New Bedford (beside the building to the right facing the building).
Topics covered are checking fluids, types of radiator coolants, inspecting serpentine belts, headlight maintenance and cleaning, battery maintenance, how to jump-start a vehicle, and air and oil filters. They will also learn about tires: pressure, changing, repair and when to rotate, proper placement of jack stands, oil change, spark plug changes, wiper changes, light bulbs, fuses, and self-safety inspections.
