Food is one of the strong cultural traditions of Latino immigrants. In New Bedford, el Patio de Comida is a special place for newcomers to remember their hometowns. Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m., Patio de Comida (Food Patio) returns with slushy ice drinks, ice cream, tacos, and other traditional treats. Also, performers, artists, yoga demonstrations, and craft workshops are on board. The event, organized by the New Bedford Community Development Economic Center (CEDC), will take place every Saturday from July 23 through August 27 at Riverside Park.
