“Tiny Poems Every Where: A Selection of Black & White Photographs” by artist David Walega is on display in the Frederick Douglas Gallery at Gallery X through Sunday, Oct. 2.

David Walega is a designer, painter, and photojournalist. Born and raised on the South Coast, he has lived in Seattle, Los Angeles, and most recently calls Mattapoisett home. David has contributed images to worldwide publications and worked with commercial and non-profit organizations.

As a photojournalist, David has traveled to document projects in Africa, El Salvador, and Mexico, to name a few. “Tiny Poems Everywhere” is a collection of drawing from over 20 years of work, including pinhole images taken with a wooden camera. Rooted in the tradition of analog photography, David’s work represents “the vast history of documentary photography while creating images that are uniquely his own.”
