DATMA: Shelter 2022

June 16 - September 12

Free

DATMA is launching its 4th year of exhibitions and programs on June 16, 2022. SHELTER 2022 will feature free exhibitions and programming all summer.

The SouthCoast region is rooted in ‘shelter’ from the Underground Railroad, which protected African Americans from slavery to the 9,100-foot hurricane barrier protecting the harbor of America’s #1 fishing port. Exhibitions this season will be located in various locations along the city’s waterfront and downtown New Bedford and at the Swain Studio of UMASS College of Visual and Performing Arts, which is also visible from the street through its floor to ceiling corner windows.
