The New Bedford City Council Committee on Public Safety and Neighborhoods will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28 in City Council Chambers at City Hall.
On the agenda:
- A request that Thomas Anderson, superintendent of New Bedford Public Schools to discuss the InForce 911 program.
- A request to meet in executive session for the purpose of exploring with the Administration and Police Department the availability of certain security equipment or other devices that could provide enhanced security.
- A motion requesting an amendment to Section 1 of the Home Rule Petition with the State regarding the appointment of Special Police Officers to enable officers over the age of 65 to be assigned to detail work.
- Two items regarding LED lighting are suggested to be waived with no further action.
