Bird Nests: Building for the Next Generation with Mass Audubon
August 26 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Bird nest design and construction are as innumerable and unique as their builders. From highly specialized mud-nests of a colony of cliff swallows to the intentional rudimentary nest of the American Robin, nests assure the continuation of future generations. Explore nest site choices, architecture, assembly, and the importance they play in courtship and bonding, all the while celebrating a metaphor or two.
Visit Under the Sheltering Sky at the New Bedford Art Museum to see the birds and their nests. This exhibition is in partnership with NBAM, New Bedford Free Public Library, and DATMA, and will be on view from Aug. 10 – Oct. 10, 2023.
