Art & Coffee in the Park: Goals and impacts of new public art

July 26 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join DATMA’s 2023 artist, Mark Reigelman, to talk about future goals and impacts of a new public art piece set to debut next summer in Custom House Square.

Part of SHELTER 2022-23, DATMA is hosting an open discussion to hear everyone’s thoughts around the project. Reigelman will share his current research directions and ideas for a new public artwork. All feedback is very important to the final outcome of the artwork. Event is free and open to the public.

Tuesday, July 26th from 4-6pm
Custom House Square
21 Barkers Lane, New Bedford, MA 02740

“Public art is collaboration at its best. While I am the creative driver behind all of my projects, it takes a huge team of people to create each installation,” shared Mark Reigelman.

Mark Reigelman is an internationally renowned, Brooklyn-based artist, specializing in site-specific installations and community-driven public art. His works, Manifest Destiny! (San Francisco, CA), White Cloud (Cleveland, OH), Wood-Pile (Cleveland, OH), Upriver-Downriver (Louisville, KY) and The Meeting House (Boston, MA) have been recognized by the Americans for the Arts as being amongst the 50 most compelling public works across the country. www.markreigelman.com
