An Intimate Night with an Author

Dan Georgianna, Spinner Publications author, will discuss his upcoming book, “The Secret and Public Life of Scallops.”
Georgianna will be interviewed by author, journalist, presenter, storyteller, and sommelier Corey Nuffer. Georgianna’s book traces scallop history from the sea floor to the dinner plate. It includes how scallops became the best-managed fishery along the East Coast, establishing New Bedford as the nation’s most valuable port.
Learn how scallops went from a tidbit wrapped in bacon to a gourmet dish. As New Bedford struggled through the 1930s, hear how Newfoundlanders, Mainers, and Norwegians brought scallop fishing to the city.
