AHA! Night: Sustainable Southcoast

The April AHA Night is themed Sustainable Southcoast. Celebrate Mother Earth with free, family-friendly activities. This month’s event features art exhibit openings, an Earth Eve parade, music, and kids’ activities. Here are some highlights; visit AHA! for the full lineup.

The Pollinator Show

View the new exhibition “The Pollinator Show” about different pollinators and their importance. TL6 will hand out free packets of wildflower seeds for the Earth Day celebration.

Zoo Friends

The Buttonwood Park Zoo’s table on the library’s lawn features an awesome science game, information about upcoming events and programs, and meet one animal friend. Enter a raffle to win a 1-year family membership to the zoo.

Earth Eve Parade

The Earth Eve Parade is back! The eco-float procession starts at the library with a performance by the New Bedford High School Show Chorus, New Bedford Food Tours crowning of the Pastel de Nata Throwdown Champion, and more. Hosted by MC Tem Blessed. End back at the Library for Domino’s pizza.

On view in the Main Gallery: “Mindfulness,” a community exhibition of peace, serenity, and opening your eyes to the world around you.

In the Frederick Douglass: “Color & Whimsy,” a solo exhibition of paintings by Gallery X member and board president David LeComte.

Seaport Sessions: Sarah Donner and Hooly J Chan

The featured artists are Sarah Donner and Hooly J Chan. They perform songs from their puppet-based musical about the North Atlantic right whales, The Beauty Below, and other pieces from their repertoires.
